Archival Digitization Services

Promote Your Page Too

Kellscraft Studio offers full service digitization of archival material and rare book collections using high resolution digital photography.  Digital photography provides a higher resolution for clearer image detail and more accurate OCR (Optical Character Recognition) conversion to digital text files.

  •      Imaging by camera provides a safer process with less chance of damage to the original work than conventional scanning. Light stands using cool fluorescent bulbs and photographic diffusers protect delicate archival material from the harsher light of conventional scanners.

  •      The average 200 page book can be completely photographed in an hour or less, whereas traditional scanning can take up to 4 times as long.

  •      An added advantage to digitizing by camera imaging is that size does matter.  Oversize books and documents can be easily imaged by camera where conventional scanners can't even come close.

  •      Digital imaging using 5 and 8 megapixel cameras provide images which are user-ready, and can be easily modified later for book, magazine or .pdf publication, as well as internet publication.

  •      All services can be provided on-site at your archive, library or collections site.  Material stays secure at your own site - no need to send your archive material out to be processed.

Scanning Services Also Available:

Portable scanner units are available for use, as the need arises.  Photographic imaging is preferable, but scanning may be used as required.

PLEASE NOTE: I provide the Imaging and OCR work necessary to prepare the work for republishing, but I do not act as a publishing house.  Additional work may be required to format works for print or electronic media that I do not offer as part of this service.

Additional Services:

  • We also offer services to completely image family diaries, records, notebooks, etc..., as well as reimage family photographs and repair images as required.  While no image can be restored to mint condition, digital restoration can work wonders in many cases.  Contact me with specifics of your collection and receive a quote for services.
